| Generating a Preview | |
|
The "Get Overview" button is located to the left of the preview pane. It will open up a window showing all the slides in the tray and there you will select which slide to scan. |

The button that refreshes the overview is located above the preview of the first slide. This will perform a quick prescan of all the slides in the tray. Afterwards, select the slide you wish to scan and click "Ok". A more detailed preview of the slide will be scanned and displayed in the preview pane. |

| Cropping | |

Crop your image as you would in any other scanning software, by drawing a box around the portion of the image you would like to scan. |

| Color Adjustment | |
|
There are a number of color adjustment tools that can help you if the color in your scan looks dull. The first (from left to right) adjusts the color settings automatically, this is generally all that is needed to generate an excellent scan. If your slide or film has particularly subtle color gradations you would like to capture, you may make further manual adjustments. The second tool is similar to the "Levels" tool in Photoshop, the third is similar to "Curves", and the fourth is quite similar to "Color Balance". Making manual adjustments in the scanning software will yield much more detailed scans than making the same adjustments later in Photoshop. |

| Ejecting the Slide Tray | |
|
***EJECT THE SLIDE TRAY BEFORE YOU REMOVE IT*** The motors in the scanner are delicate and will be stressed if you pull the tray out by hand while it is fed into the scanner. The eject button will release the tray from control by the scanner motors so you can remove and and retrieve your slides. |

| Save Your Image to Zip | |
| After you are done scanning, save your image to zip disk in Photoshop. This is done by clicking "File" --> "Save". If you are using Zip100 disks, you should use the external zip drive because it is much faster than the internal when writing to Zip100 disks. The external drive has the drive letter "D:". | |
